Her push to be a 'popular actress' just feels so artificial. She has the talent to be a supporting or background character but not a headliner.
It’s definitely artificial. Hollywood desperately wanted nonwhite “it girls” and because it’s Hollywood they intentionally picked mids for “reasons”, meanwhile Sweeney is blowing up because hot blondes will always be the main demand by objective beauty standards.
Blondes or redheads,there's a reason why we all thought Rodger Rabbit was a lucky bastard! Lol
What pisses me off because I'm ethnically Korean is that we had hot Asians as Hollywood stars in the 90s and 00's, but they were just that, hot Asians. But now even the ones who are supposedly "attractive" these days use that fucking race card acting like they're underprivileged victim classes. You aren't special, you're just hot, and liking hot stuff should be something to be celebrated. Just like hot blondes and redheads are a regular part of American life.
It all stems from Euphoria. They are really trying to hard to make that the show of a generation, along with everyone in it. And yes, it's as hebraic as you'd expect, even down to the fact it's an adaptation of an Israeli show.
So we have Zendaya of course, but also the troon Hunter Schafer. Jacob Elordi, the new Frankenstein. Maude Apatow, the jepo baby. Colman Domingo, whose career is exploding as of late despite already being 55. And then right at the end, who I suspect won't be in it next time round, /ourgirl/ Syd.
The only actress in Euphoria whose career has tanked is Barbie Ferreira, mostly because no-one wants to see a fat harpy anymore. Lardass worship was so 2010s. Now we have Ozempic.
but she doesnt even have that, she is the typical young person actor: "sarcastic" and "aloof" . I have zero idea how someone with the acting chops of a millennial plank of wood manages to get these blockbuster roles: Spiderman, Dune, Space Jam, Shrek....
