This week I was looking at the quality of work generated by LLMs.
My comment to a close friend (who is a professional programmer) was:
"This work is shit. Why are we afraid that AI will replace us?"
His response was: "If you work is slightly better than this, then you are right to fear replacement."
Which was eye-opening.
So much of the modern corporate world are invented jobs in AC for women and feminized men, so they can feel useful. At some economic necessity will apply pressure to remove these useless roles. AI doesn't actually have to be very good at all to replace humans that are totally useless and spend all day in an office writing emails and hiding from responsibility.
AI wouldn't be necessary if the industry had some ethical standards. But, I would rather have AI than let gender studies or pajeets be employed.
