Chen's year of radio silence, then announcing her return (and two US anchor babies) with no real resolution of the Tenet Media allegation gong show and simply returning to social media like nothing happened, is so surreal and unsatisfying.

I suppose the only difference is that the DOJ is now under Trump control rather than Biden (though she remained underground for the first 6 months or so of the changing of the POTUS admin).

The old Trudeau government, with the backing of the Poilievre Conservatives and the now deposed Jagmeet Singh NDP, tried to find her in contempt of Parliament when she was subpoenaed to appear before a national security committee remotely last year to answer questions about Russian collusion. To which she continually repeated a Pleading the 5th statement from her lawyer even though Canada doesn't have such protections.

Trudeau has now resigned and Mark Carney was elected in April with essentially Trudeau's entire cabinet still intact, so it's hard to imagine that much has changed for Chen up north. However, AFAIK, despite threats to try to use Parliamentary tools to actually make her testify and answer questions substantively, nothing really came of that either.

All the other Tenet Media talent has carried on with business as usual as well: Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, Benny Johnson, Matt Christiansen (though the loss of his Tenet income and the massive debt he took out on his mortgage partially resulted in the breakdown with his longtime decade-long partnership with his cohost Blonde).

Lauren Southern is presumably still a resident in Canada and similarly went radio silent with the Tenet break same as Chen. She did resurface months before Chen though to accuse Andrew Tate and others of rape to drive engagement for another tell-all book.
