Because a lot of Conservative/Right voices are just temporarily embarrassed liberals in disguise.
It always boggles me when I stumble across liberal whom claim they turned conservative because conservatives where the more 'dignified' party.
It's all about feels. They don't want to actually win, they just want the 'look' while they loose. Or are so stupid that they think 'Well, if we offer a good example to the left, eventually they'll turn around and become more dignified as well'.
They really need to sit down, shut up, and learn of the context and history of how we fucking got to this point. (They won't, because the moment you start pointing out leftist bad-behavior, they start mumbling something about how the right did it first).
This. Right now the United States has the same problem the right did at the outset of the Spanish Civil War.
Namely that a big chunk of the right aren't actually helping fight the left. Either because they see this as a political disagreement instead of the existential threat it is, or because they themselves are part of the left in disguise.
The left could be slaughtering entire convents and eating human flesh, and the "conservatives" will always spend their time clicking their tongues at the real right.
