The Dark Knight came out in 2008 when Phase 1 started, that's how much the trilogy cost DC because they were still focusing on a standalone Batman story, again, while Marvel was building up its franchise and would consequently dominate the genre while DC was already years behind before it tried jumpstarting its own DCU run.
