'they buy A LOT of military equipment from us so we don't really care about this'

And frankly, I would rather this be the attitude we go back to. I am well past the point where I care about if a nation is a democracy, a monarchy, or even a dictatorship. I only care about "Will they be a friend of the United States?" If yes, that is all that matters. If no, then it doesnt matter anyway.
