What was the point of doing this? Why does it feel like the left STILL think they can operate like they ALWAYS have not noticing the normies are giving the right more permissions for legal retaliation?
It's standard Socialist self-narrative. They give themselves permission to do whatever they want and their propagandists cover for each action they take. Moreover, no amount of popular blowback ever means anything to them. In most situations, where Socialists ask for a vote to basically give them power and take over the country, Socialists tend to lose popular vote. In fact, Socialists tend to loose in truly democratic and fair elections, because Socialists forced people to be politicized. Politicized populations are either ideologically captured Socialists or rabidly anti-Left because no one can actually live in a Socialist state without being a Socialist, so all non-Socialists are united against them.
But because of their self-narrative that only they represent the working people, they assume that they can just keep doing whatever they want and have the support of the working people, even while working people are actively protesting against them.
Eventually, the Socialists wake up to the fact that they are hated by the working class, and do one of two things:
A) they attempt to subvert the elites and take control of the population through Elite Capture
B) They declare the working class to be class traitors and start a civil war
Our problem right now is that they already captured the elites, and are already unpopular, and you're beginning to see the inevitable violence that happens when the Left realizes they aren't getting their way, and decide that the people are traitors to the revolution.
