I think I see what she's getting at, though she's horribly misguided. She is citing how a large number of people don't live in the real world, so everything feels fake. If one of these people frequents video games, especially shooters like halo, then they risk losing moral reservations about shooting people.
Her logic is like blaming vodka for making people drunk, when we should be blaming the drunk's poor habits for being drunk.
It just doesn't work that way, though. Reality vs fantasy is a thing. Drone pilots, FI, get PTSD at about the same rate as soldiers that are in up close and personal firefights. But, neither shooters nor Looney Tunes have made killers.
Plus, they keep studying violent video games for this stuff, and never find what they're after. They know it's BS.

exactly. To put it in terms of alcoholic, the drink does not make a drunk. The bad habits of a drunk makes a drunk.
Exposure to the evil and hedonism of the average person is more likely to drive someone to murder than gaming is.
what is excess escapism (such as too much gaming) if not hedonism?
I have no opportunity to do anything else in my life besides gaming and being a wage slave
I'm sorry to hear that, but that doesn't change my earlier statement
