This is one of the most bastardized phrases used by churchians and one of the most egregiously stupid. Every time they use the phrase it’s not for its actual meaning it’s to pretend you must enable sin because people do it. To churchians false kindness and kumbayah singing is “love”, this modern insane definition is the equivalent of helping a junky OD and calling it “love”.
Love is not cruel or kind, love is doing what’s best for someone. If you love someone they might scorn you for it, but that’s the cost of it. Enabling the sinner is not love, it is sin.
Love is a Sacral Duty of Care to someone. As such, there is no such concept as loving sin. Loving the sinner is to care for them with such radical empathy and compassion, that you soften their hearts to being able to listen to someone else, in order to actually guide them into doing what's best for them.
False, that is just enabling sin. Empathy is a fake moralization of emotional states to condone shitty behavior. Compassion in the Bible is beating someone when they need it as well as showing mercy when they need it.
Empathy is not a fake moralization of emotional states. Empathy is to understand a persons plight, to acknowledge it, and to have the wisdom to help them overcome their issue. That does not exclude harshness nor strength.
That is far removed from common use or even dictionary definition
