First of all, yes, private entities absolutely can ban you from speaking on their property. The 1A only restricts the government from jailing you. If we couldn't ban people from this sub, it would be an unreadable mess.
Second, the problem with the lefts cancelling is it was usually just a handful of terminally online freaks, digging through hundreds of tweets dating back years to find one example of a person saying "nigger", usually as a joke. It was completely devoid of nuance and purely vindictive.
The right is using it to get women who work with children fired because they're glad a normie was murdered. Does any normal person want a sociopath like that near thier kids?
The problem is always just the left, not the tools they use.
Not exactly. They can't ban you from speaking, but they can ban you for speaking, or ask you to leave their property.
No one can stop you from speaking, outside of court orders or something. And even that is sketchy, and often abused. Private entities can have policies about what sort of speech they find acceptable, and punish you afterward, though.
I know it's somewhat semantic, but I do think it's important to be clear that private entities can't stop you from speaking either, they can just punish you (within their own spheres of influence) for your speech.
Or punishing you in any way, or making laws to punish you. Or trying to get around that by working through private entities. You can absolutely violate someone's 1A rights without going so far as to jail them.
The amount of people doing it doesn't really matter but, yes, everything else is on point. It was just punishment against their political opponents, and wasn't warranted. It used the leftist advantage in society to punish conservatives in ways that the right couldn't return fire on.
As someone else said, the right is engaging in revenge. But I don't care, and you're also right that the "crimes" people are committing here are very different. I have much less sympathy for a leftist getting fired for being a fucking demon, than a conservative getting fired for an excuse the left dug up because they hated them for not being a leftist.
It's both. I think we have to be really careful with that kind of speech. There are absolutely tactics the left uses, that the right shouldn't. Because we wouldn't be the right if we behaved like leftists. I'm not saying cuck to them, I'm just saying we have to fight the left without crossing too many lines. We have to cross some, and do things we'd rather not, to fight them, but there also have to be lines we don't cross.
There are absolutely tools the left uses, that we totally should not use. This isn't such a case, though. Fuck these ghouls, these demons. Get away from the kids, and suffer.
The left has determined that negativity is evil. They're dirty hypocrites about it, but their ideology definitely holds that "Inflicting pain or suffering of any kind is inherently evil (Unless you're doing it to someone inherently evil, in which case it's totally justified.)"
Ironically, I could find that core stance to be somewhat respectable, except that they have no concept of nuance for either end of the spectrum. So they deny pain where it's necessary; like natural consequences, character building, or corrective discipline, and embrace it whenever it suits their bloodlust to "righteously" destroy "evil."
