I got a suggestion from my algorithm on YouTube for a mashup video of John Cena's "My Time is Now" and Eminem's "Encore/Curtain Call."
Encore was released is 2004. The song includes the following lyrics
Spoke to a generation of angry teenagers Whom, if it wasn't for rap to bridge the gap, may be raised to be racist Who may have never got to see our faces
Eminem is saying without rap, white kids would just black people. That rap gave them a reason to empathize with blacks.
The idea being blacks and other minorities are naturally empathetic and not racist, conversely white people are naturally racist and hateful.
Where does this attitude come from? It's clearly not backed by any data, because data shows white people don't tend to have high in-group preferences. Especially compared to the preferences of other racial groups.
This isn't entirely wrong. Rap getting big when it did changed a whole lot of white teens and young adults into Wiggers and made a lot of them inherently more pro-black. Because suddenly all the shit that makes blacks awful and evil was suddenly "cool" and they'd sweep for it because of Wigger nonsense. It was a perfectly timed thing to let them jump over those impressionable years to adulthood where it was harder to change their mind on things, especially things they once loved if not still did.
It was literally taking the stuff that created 'racism', seeing how blacks talk and act, and then just "this is actually awesome" in the most hedonistic ways. Eminem was crucial to that by being the 'middle ground' for white trash teens to see themselves in that same situation. Because in most of America that poorest whites live among the blacks and have a lot of the same culture as them. And now instead of hating them for obvious reasons, they'd instead join them in trying to hustle and be rappers or other nonsense.
At the end of it, white people will always inherently be racist. Because blacks, and a lot of other races, suck in ways that will make you balk in disbelief at the evil you see in front of you. You cannot know they exist and not end up racist against them. Its why the media and the Jews spend so much time instead trying to convince you of justifications and ways that its not evil but cool or allowed. So you disbelieve your lying eyes.
They inverse this for other races at the same time. Its why you see things like "being on time" or "studying" being called white supremacist colonizer. They take things that we naturally would like, and call them evil. Its why black kids get bullied for "acting white" when they behave like decent people. White culture has a lot of draws that anyone who isn't a low IQ hedon would want, and so its crucial to paint that as always evil (and that hedonism as always valid).
There will always be tribalism, which is the instinct at the heart of "racism." But there is also extreme efforts to fuck with both sides perceptions of reality. One that makes blacks refuse to pull themselves out of their death spirals, and the other that makes whites complacent and defensive about letting them do so.
Jazz, funk, soul, gospel... they gave people a reason to empathise with blacks. Rap created empathy for niggers. It's in the name, wigger.
Nay, it made people think they were capable of being human and empathizing with that universal quality.
Rap reminded us all that they were niggers on the inside, and that humanity was just a facsimile they adopted to try and fit in.
