Charlie Kirk, love him or hate him, was engaging in discourse. He was willing to subject his ideas to the crucible of the public square, and he invited everyone else to do the same. There is courage in that endeavor, especially during these highly polarized and (apparently) violent times. Assassinating such a man is more than an attack on his specific ideas. The very discourse was murdered here. The left have declared the national conversation finished.
