I think the Left is just going to be equally, if not more, violent. The right is just going to defend itself more often and assume a Leftist shooter is present.
"Church Defense" didn't used to be a thing that anyone even considered 20 years ago. Now you can get security jobs being armed security for churches, you may even be able to get one at your own local congregation.
Instead, I think what you're going to start seeing is not only more security at conservative events, but rightists just being strapped normally at debates, meet-ups, lectures, and conservative events. Imagine if the next ARC event had 10-20% of the attendees open or concealed carrying in the event.
The right will refuse to defend itself and pretend that's a virtue. 'If we hurt them, we're no better than them. Turn the other cheek. By killing us, they're just proving us right. Let's just call the cops and let the law handle it.' The last church I left had the leader of the security detail be an old man with a pocket knife.
I've been seeing leftists radicalize themselves over this shooting across social media. They're claiming this as self-defense and re-affirming that they are the eternal victims. Even with the talking heads trying to de-escalate, it seems like it's being tuned out by the grunts.
That's exactly what's happening. This is because the far left is agitating far harder than the mainstream left has credibility. Not to mention, a lot of the mainstream left is well represented by the most extreme fringes. The most extreme people on the right are just random voices on the internet. The most extreme people on the left are literally teaching at university, broadcasting on both TV and the internet, and running Wikipedia.
I honestly don't think so.

I've seen that, but I think that's a major cultural change going forward.
