Sure they would. They'd be doing it because they want victims. Moral and physical victims.
Morally, they want to force others to proclaim and accept the lie. They relish being able to force compliance from real people. Physically, well most of them are pedophiles so that part should be obvious.
Again, most kill themselves without murdering the people around them. Malice alone doesn't explain the phenomenon.
