I'll grant you that Anti-Americanism and Anti-Christianity are different, but in a lot of these countries they'll go hand in hand, particularly Islamic ones. It's the idea of a Christian Imperium attempting to destroy the Muslim world with the help of the jews.

I hear about Americans visiting countries outside of designated tourist spots and regularly getting harassed, mugged, raped, or kicked the shit out of . I don't know if that's a media consumption problem on your part. I can tell you that most people who regularly travel know that Americans will typically be targeted for their assumed wealth as a tourist, and that in-group preference means that it's a good idea to bribe someone who's threatening you, than it is to try and fight them, because you are likely to get lynched.

Tatum is not saying that it's good the Christians got spit on. He's saying it's good that the child who showed bigotry was corrected and that people apologized. I do think that's fairly uncommon in most of the non-western world.
