Simpsons was running on fumes by Season 20, tops. If it had any dignity it would have ended with the Movie. Plebbitors tried to force PatP as the sharkjump point for about 20 years (since that was the year most of them hit puberty) but in reality, it was a slow downward spiral beginning from as far back as S7 that really became noticeable when they switched from cel animation to digital and the characters became even more rigid in design.
I don't know anybody who has watched the simpsons since before 2010 - and that they watched it at all was just because of the timeslot and habit. Once streaming took over from broadcast nobody cared about that washed up unfunny shit at all.
