Because much like the Woke Leftist, the Doomers want you as broken and miserable as they are. So they need to convince you that all is lost and you need to start wallowing in self-pity and depression like they do. Because if you dont, then it just means they are a loser instead of "ahead of the curve", and they start to feel even worse.
