You're right about the fan service. He got more "skin time" than any female character did. I'm fine with service: none, a little, a lot? If it fits the show it's ok. If it's a distraction then not so much.
I'm more of a Ayana Taketatsu guy for that character type, thanks to her top tier work in Kanojo, Kanojo.
Not just him, but the dad and brother too. The series is unironically one of the most egalitarian in terms of attractive characters for both genders to gawk over.
