I have some vacation time on Friday so I’ll take my PS4 to GameStop to trade in (since they sell sports cards now I’ll get some packs with store credit). Once I got a gaming laptop I was spending more and more time playing games on it to the point where I was only using my PS4 to watch streaming. Now that I have chrome cast I really don’t have a need for it anymore. I’m officially in the PC Master Race. I’ve always bought Sony since I was a senior in high school and my dad said if I got a PS1 he would buy my first game (terrible deal since he bought Riven).
My main reason for getting a gaming laptop was that I couldn’t get quest mods in PS4 Skyrim. Now, if I ever come across a PS2 I’d happily buy that again but I saw one at a game store with 5 games for 700. From now on it’s Steam for me. I think I may do a playthrough of old Sierra games as well
It is shocking to me that I haven’t felt any desire to buy a PS5. I was all in on everything up through the PS4. Even had a PSP Go and Vita. But when the headline game for the PS5 was Demon’s Souls, which I’d already played on the PS3, they lost me.
Same reason I didn't buy the latest Xbox. No console exclusives. There is nothing special about those consoles now. They are just overpriced streaming and blu ray/ dvd playing machines. Nintendo and Steam are the only ones with actual games now.
Yea the only upcoming games I have any interest in are Sims 5 and Elder Scrolls 6. I have Inzoi and I’ll have to see how ES6 is before I get it
Astrobot was the only time I ever felt any desire to have one, and that's because I absolutely love that genre of game and its not as common as it should be anymore. And because of the theme of it, it will almost never be ported elsewhere unlike most PS5 games.
But owning a whole expensive console for one game is retarded. And instead of slowly building up a plethora of exclusives to tip that over, they instead just started porting them to Steam anyway.
