My conspiracy theory is that Microsoft fudges the internal numbers from gamepass to make it seem a lot more playing then they are. For everyone involved it looks like a success. As long as GP makes a lot of money they can easily hide failures.
But that's the thing people like me who get game pass every few months for a dollar are making them $0 basically.
Honestly if Microsoft is somehow screwing someone else out of money what that plot you mentioned, I'm all for it. To sit there and tell me that 50,000 people paid $1 to try their shit game and then never bought it, they're fucking themselves just to assuage their fragile egos. And perhaps fucking investors. Both I can live with. Because fuck M$ and the people investing in them. That house of cards can't last forever.
Basically they just hide the failing propaganda making it appear a success even if Microsoft lost money. They shift blame to other things.
Microsoft has infinite money so they don't care that much. All they need is hide it from investors.
