Acting Deputy Superintendent Danika Globokar fired Joslin due to their participation in what leadership described as the “flag demonstration,” Joslin said. ... Joslin said they asked for evidence proving that the flag display was a demonstration but said leadership did not provide any.
The employer didn't need to provide evidence as this jackass already had:
Joslin said they came up with the idea to hang the trans pride flag on El Capitan in the spring after President Donald Trump issued a variety of executive orders targeting trans people, including orders to change the federal definition of sex to exclude trans identities, restrict access to trans health care and prohibit trans women from competing in female sports.
El Capitan isn't exactly an obscure monument so much as a well known rock wall in a national park. Not sure how much generic tourism it gets, but it's pretty well known within rock climbing circles, so it's definitely a case of activists attempting to annex territory.

"How do we best fight the government?"
"Drape an ugly ass flag over an obscure monument that is 2,600 miles away from where the President is."
"Perfect!"

I get what you're saying.. but 99% of people couldn't point to a picture of El Capitan in a line up or probably even tell you where it is.
