I've never seen a serial number tattoo larger than five digits. Why would the death camps choose to kill jews in descending order? Or did they just number their captives in descending order? How did they know which number to start with?
It's actually because each camp used their own numbers. Near the end when they started moving them, it became confusing when they said "Number 23831, Please stepen ze forward", and 3 of them did
