She's not a dumbass, just a little wacky. I think she's actually pretty sharp, from what I've seen. She got smeared because the left hates her.
Southern accent = dumb, thanks to most people internalizing the propaganda they have been force fed their entire lives. The content of the message doesn't even matter. Say it with a drawl, and it's dumb. Say the same thing with a posh British accent, and it's brilliant.
