Fundamentally, as with a bunch of these activist decisions, even if you agree with the conclusion, the argument doesn't hold.
Marriage was never federal jurisdiction. It just isn't. And there really isn't a good argument that anything in the civil rights laws or civil rights amendments ever applied.
You have to return it to the states.
