Garbage in, garbage out has been a well known principle in Computer Science since it became a field of study. The elephant in the room is that GIGO applies to every system, and not just software systems. So by hiring garbage diversity hires, they put out garbage diversity hire quality work.
When incompetence is rewarded, a drop in quality is inevitable.
