I don't. As you say, many people will fall in line. But some others won't. There have been people on the left opposing Big Surveillance the entire time, and they were probably a decent factor in Trump's victory, even if they didn't outright support him.

Note that you will find far fewer leftists, at least in my experience, supporting something like immigration, because it's their communities that get wrecked as well. When it comes to something abstract, like climate change, they believe the doomerism on the other hand.
