From a practical perspective, if the animals are sedated beforehand and asleep when a tiger or whatever eats them then it appears fine on the surface. Better yet if they're just butchered into normal meat in the first place. However, if the animal has to be alive and kicking in order to entice the predator to eat it, then that seems inhumanely cruel.
My practice of eating meat is the KINDEST predation on the planet. Every animal in existence is happy to have died at the hands of industry then at the hands of a predator.

This is precisely what vegans can't understand.
