I would be shocked if snl has turned a profit sine the early 2000s if even then.
It's staggering to see the financial details and how poorly these shows are doing. Between losing money and shrinking audiences it's clear the market isn't dictating the tv schedule.
Television is a performance to beg for money from the crusty old people in power with all of the money. Those dinosaurs still think TV matters.
There was a throwaway joke in the 90s game Gex about SNL not being funny for years (at that time).
