Gen Z is increasingly slamming their degrees as useless, and new research indicates there may be some truth when it comes to the job hunt. In fact, the unemployment rate of males aged 22 to 27 is roughly the same, whether or not they hold a degree. It comes as employers drop degree requirements and young men ditch corporate jobs for skilled trades. Gen Z is struggling to break into the entry-level job market—but young male college graduates may be hurting the most.
I know why you are being downvoted, but it is true. Gen Z women have a HUGE advantage over Gen Z men. It’s a lot easier for Gen Z women to network or get in front of the Boomer and Gen X men running the companies (think a man is going to get an administrative assistant or secretary role? Don’t make me laugh) and have a pathway to success vs Gen Z men, who Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials view as competition. Literally every argument of why white men are failing right now boils down to, “Older white men view younger white men as competition and will do everything they can to lift up every minority and female possible just so the perceived threat of competition is eliminated.”
