My worse suspicion is that it is because the parents don't know how to do it, and neither did their parents. This is why some of these kids have been going and watching videos from the 1950's on how to talk to women, or how to date. That was literally the last time the information was passed down. The boomers passed nothing, so no generation after them passed anything either.
This is my big issue with schools. People send them there to learn to socialise? Bloody retarded, they learn to socialise from degenerate teens who learnt from other teens, who passed it down from other teens and what is being taught now has essentially no value outside of school... . Back in the day you'd graduate from the children's group as you entered your teen years and join a group of adults, learning to hunt, or the trades and skills from them and attempting to impress and socialise with them. That's what we're meant to be doing. Young men are supposed to learn from a group of men and earn their place and respect. Not learning to (and being rewarded for) acting like fools doing what impresses other children.
E: and it's just getting worse and worse with the lack of male teachers and discipline in the schools. It's wasn't good back in the day when those things existed, but it wasn't as degenerate as it is now.
I used to make this argument when I was in school, because it seemed like private school kids were super weird and closeted.
No, actually, we're the freaks. They were protected from us. I know that now.
Michael Malice put it very well. Paraphrasing: "How are you going to claim that High School is where kids learn to socialize, when 'acting like your still in high school' is a slur in adult hood?"
