Yeah there's punks who look mean and act generally annoying at night, but it's not dangerous like neighborhoods in America.

I recall a news article from a few years ago where local British chavs were having issues with the Africans flooding into their neighborhoods. The chavs would be antagonistic because it was their turf, and where a normal Briton would go "Blimey, don't hurt me, take me wallet and leave me be," the Africans would pull knives and machetes and just kill the guy in retaliation. They were entirely unaccustomed to this outright violence and murder.
