T3 and even Salvation are fine, canonwise. You can nitpick about certain things and you'll be right, but they at least TRIED to respect the overall story and themes. Salvation, while flawed, finally gave us a full story within the post judgment day future.
Anything after that I don't consider canon at all. They had to destroy entire movies worth of timeline just so they can have their grrlboss say "come with me if you wanna live"
The way I see it is that because both the resistance and skynet are constantly fucking with the timeline, each film exists within its own little continuity bubble, and the next film is free to ignore parts of the previous films.
