I have mixed circles of friends and associates as many of you have guessed. Left leaning gaming Historians are talking about all the archives they have of GamerGate and studying it to prove how evil it was. One bragged about having over 5TB of files.
They all talked about how it was destroyed and the leadership was in jail for rape and stuff. I get the feeling more papers from those types is incoming.
Yes and no. Historians wait at least a decade before they properly step in. By then documents and sources are released, and most of the angry people have moved on to something else. They often try to get as much source work done while waiting, and then release papers. We've only recently saw books on 01-09.
Sort of like how Angry Video Game Nerd, Homestar Runner, and Screw Attack talked about nostalgia of the Super Nintendo generation and lower. The N64 was too recent.
Or thoroughly scrubbed and falsified in this case.
Which is why I archive my source lists now.
