After an election there was a Republican DA. That one had nothing to do with the investigation.
The first (Dem) DA had offered a plea deal with... nothing. No jail time, no sex offender registry, nothing. The second (Repub) DA's deal was bad, but 10x better than that!
So hiding the evidence is both self-protection for this Judge and protecting the Dems too.
