Instead, he's losing some of his core disinterested voters who do not typically show up for mid-terms.
Worse, he's losing the most energized and attention-paying people, who would show up for midterms. Say what you want about the conspiracy bros or whatever, but they're fucking paying attention.
I said before, but Trump would literally be better off betraying his core base - as they would likely forgive him, or might not even notice - than the fringes who are way, way more plugged in. The people who wanted the Epstein list, and no wars, and lower spending, are the last people he should be pissing off.
The problem is that politics runs heavily on a system of alliances and agreements which doesn't strictly follow naturally. On the other hand, those outside the system who are seeking answers are developing their ideas independently of all that.
Now, those who know for a fact that their way of life will never be tolerated by the rest of society under any circumstances, don't even care who is right because losing power means death for them. The problem we've got right now is that our social structure has reached it's logical conclusion, as it was always about building more power without any consideration for an ending point (well, it was considered, but it was deeply flawed). So we've got people in power who are married to a flawed concept of reality, and we've got people who are actually invested in learning the truth of the world who have no power at all.
Ultimately those currently holding power will fall, as that is always the fate of those who attempt to actualize flawed ideologies, and humanity's fate will rest on how well those others have been able to prepare themselves for actual responsibility in real time.
Everybody on the Conservative wing of the right has been shitting up the Libertarians, but they are actually some of the most plugged in people who want to support him, and are the most finicky of his coalition because they're so used to betrayal.
I want to keep supporting him because of how effective he is being on other things, and I didn't forget about the mass pardon of the January 6ers. But a lot of Libertarians got burned first, then got burned by Trump loyal MAGA, and are too ideological to keep tolerating the shit that's been done.
Weirdly enough, I actually think Vance, RFK, and most recently Tulsi are desperately trying to keep the coalition afloat. I'm actually wondering if Tulsi's investigation into Obama could force the DOJ's hand to re-examine the Epstein case.
