Even before landing my own accusation I was firmly on the side that anyone taking to social media, or even just rumour-mongering, rather than going to the police is far more concerned about "starting a conversation" than actually addressing an event. Which then leads to the more and more obvious thought that it didn't and any recollections are suitably shrouded in generalisations and tailored language to prevent falling foul of legal speak which can result in being sued for defamation and slander.
