Americans vote for domestic policy. International policy is dictated elsewhere, regardless of who is holding office.
If border enforcement continues improving, still the right choice. With any luck they're too focused on world politics to notice domestic improvements.
A drastic righting of the ship on border policy would at least buy us the time to free us of our other issues later. Lose on the border and it doesn't matter whether patriots or pedophiles rule the country; it will be a shithole regardless.
I've made the same argument to people who say that Europeans shouldn't vote for populist parties because they are all very Zionist. We couldn't care less about that.
