I don't know if there's a proper name for these kinds of lobby-serving law groups, but they do tend to be pretty fucking stupid. Copyright lawyers, corporate lawyers in general, etc.
They don't have to produce any kind of sensible reason or logic when they can just throw money, delays, and bribery into the mix through a legal war of attrition.
