Mikayla Raines, founder of "Save a Fox Rescue" just took her own life.2 months ago she was seen on r/SaveAfoxSnark attempting to defend herself from her detractors. Here's how the subreddit's creator responded when she showed up:It's time to address "Snark"...
It sucks that this woman heroed herself, but the whole "bullied to death" narrative certainly seems astroturfed.
If she couldn't handle criticism from haters in a sub with less than 100 total comments ever, she was never going to make it.
Otherwise this seems like fake and ghey chick fight drama.
The animal rescue women in particular are pretty unhinged in my experience.
There's probably some parallels between the suicidal empathy in the mass migration and animal rescue worlds.
Animal rescue, particularly wildlife rescue, is a worthy cause. But in my experience, those involved tend to be zealots lacking balance, social graces or introspection.
Are we pretending these dedicated subs aren't full of lunatics and that they stay self contained
19 posts, 91 comments. In the last year.
That's 4-5 comments per post. It was more like someone's personal blog.
<100 comments annually is a dead sub.
This was so small there's absolutely no reason the Save a Fox woman should've acknowledged or engaged with it.
I guarantee you they weren't just staying on reddit minding their own business
