To be honest, I don't think Israel's nuclear program could have been stopped by JFK. They had already stolen US secrets on how to build and engineer one. They got nukes very quickly, and I wouldn't be surprised if the truth was that they already had one by the time JFK was shot. I think by the time the 6 Day War took place they had something like a dozen weapons, but the media was doing the "they are 2 weeks out from having weapons".
