A quick search says that they used 14 bunker buster bombs and the bombs look to cost 15.7 million each for a grand total of $220 million not including any personnel costs or any other costs related to the mission.
Thanks for the link! If the program cost 314M, then they'd only have 20 of them at 15.7M each. I'm thinking it's more like 2M each. A Tomahawk missile costs around that much & has engines & much more complex electronics.
It's just a really big bomb, there's little guidance & no engines. But they are "listed at" 15M so :/
Yeah I assumed the program cost was mainly research and development but I don’t know for sure. If we’re the only western country that has them I assumed there was more to it than it just being a big bomb but I know basically nothing about ordinance so shrug
