well the tranny that they pushed as being cast as Zelda, is 26 years old. So obviously those rumors were a bunch of lies. Also even more than Hunter Schafer being a tranny he also has a criminal record so i doubt Nintendo could turn a blind eye to that criminal record. Unlike in America where people with criminal records are treated like they are no different from other people , In Japan, there is still a lot of negative stigma against people with criminal records or who were arrested before. Getting in to trouble with the law and the police isn't something celebrated as "heroic" the way it is in America. Him having a criminal record was something i actually saw Japanese comments bring up but not English comments.They were actually less focused on him being a tranny and more focused on him having a criminal record and him being an activist (apparently they still don't get that all trannies are activists)
