Yes, retaliation is "within their rights" but Iran has been aggressively attacking Israel for a decade now, it's not like they don't have ample blood on their hands.
Anytime civilians are deliberately targeted by a military action is a war crime, really. A military target "in his bedroom" is still a military target. If he's hiding behind civilians their deaths are his fault.
How many buildings are left in Gaza? Fucking Dresden had more left standing than Gaza after Israel was done shelling the area.

"Scientists" working exclusively for the military to build atomic bombs are not civilians. Are doctors in the army "civilians" too? Nope.
There's plenty of buildings still standing in Gaza, you're not allowed to see them of course, the Media and Hamas make sure of that.
Doctors in the army are civilians. It is a war crime to even target them.
Also scientists are still civilians. Doesn't matter what they are working on. So Israel is still targeting civilians and is in the wrong here.
But Iran shooting vaguely 'accurate' missiles at cities is OK?
