Combine the race riots in LA, the missile shooting contest in the Middle East, and the armies 250th anniversary parade, this weekend may be wild.
My personal wild bet is “Iranian” agents will attack the parade on our own soil (if you want to get real crazy you can say these “Iranians” also assassinate someone important at the event) and the media turns into 2004 Warhawk Republican level bloodthirsty.
Real ones know to always bet on nothing ever happening though. Probably the safe option.
Domestic violence in the US will be entirely determined by weather.
I'm not sure what to expect with Iran & Israel. It could go either way, but if Israel's and Iran's strikes are as effective as first impressions show, the Iranian black-ops program is going to be badly damaged for a year or so, the nuclear program is going to be badly degraded as well, and it all came at a price to Israel of a few dead and 7 failed interceptions.
TBH, I think the big thing to take away is that 21st century warfare mostly using drones and anti-missile defense systems are properly here, and I'm starting to be more fond of Trump's "Golden Dome" plan.
The Israeli's also showed they have near total aerial supremacy over Iran. There was GPS confirmed reports of the Israeli's doing airborne refueling runs in Iranian airspace! That is a degree of both disrespect and establishment of your power that is rarely achieved in the real world. And tie that in with the Israeli's grounding the Iranian Air Force with their mere presence I think it definitely establishes the superiority of American (and to a lesser extent NATO) air power in the future.
I'd like to see the information on that, because that suggests Israel has actual air dominance. Though, I wonder if they just have stealth tech instead.
I feel like Israel would need to bomb a hell of a lot more to actually ground the Iranian Air Force.
Looking into it more after more information has come out, it looks like I was wrong and it was refueling over Syria and Iraq instead of in Iran itself. So that is my bad on faulty early information.
As for the Iranian Air Force being grounded, it was less that they got bombed so hard they couldnt get airborne, and more that between their CIC being wiped out and their pilots refusing to get airborne (either due to lack of orders or fear of fighting the Israeli's much like what happened with the Iraqi's vs. the US Air Force) they were grounded in all but name.
Yeah, that's what seems to have taken place so far. Israel's strike didn't fundamentally destroy the Iranian Air Force, but the assassinations have caused such disorganization and chaos that they are going to be fairly unresponsive.
