He's basically saying that agribiz wants seasonal workers.
Yeah, we'll their not illegals.
Agribiz wants cheap labor so they don’t have to front the money to automate and actually advance the agricultural industry. Even legal H2As are a cost burden on the government versus the corporate farms. I’d rather have automated farming than even temp visas since magically they get ignored the rest of the season and people stay to work year round.
That and we need to have conversation about the subsidy system that keeps Agribiz afloat.
That’s a can of worms that would be harder to undo than deporting all illegal immigrants.
