Good soldiers follow orders. Theirs is not to reason why.
Utterly untrue and furthermore, particularly in intel, it is incumbent upon each soldier to be keenly aware of their left and right limits and even a lowly E1 needs to be able to articulate why a well-intentioned order could run afoul of generously interpreted laws of land warfare. That said it's against the UCMJ to attend protests in uniform and also giving thesd sorts of statements in uniform if not a designated spokesperson.
