Well they are right because J6 was over in a few hours but of course the media overhyped it to the moon and it’s doing the usual downplaying of these riots. I still don’t get the logic of being angry because immigration laws are enforced, but you have a good chunk of the population brainwashed into believing that we are on “stolen land” or that everyone has the right to be here.
Imagine if I had told a Comanche chief that he was on stolen land and they need to acknowledge the tribe they conquered.
Of course I’m seeing the “Jesus was a refugee” nonsense by “progressive Christians” who seem to think there is a scripture in the Bible that says “ye must conform to whatever leftists believe is popular”. I can show compassion but also say, you are not here legally and you don’t have a valid case for refugee asylum status so you have to go back.
Sorry for the rant. Just even more disgusted with the media and hoping this isnt another summer of love. Thankfully I’m in a part of Texas that doesn’t have rioting scumbags
Jesus was never a “refugee” he went to Egypt which was also under the Roman Empire. If Jesus was a refugee then everyone fleeing California for Texas are refugees as well and should be considered as such by the imbeciles screeching that.
I think a more true model would be traveling between EU countries. They are still individual countries but part of a wider political configuration. Empires contain autonomous states after all.
Not really, the Roman Empire post Julius made sure those provinces were under strict Roman rule. Egypt especially in this case as Augustus waged a war that ended the Egyptian Ptolemic dynastic line with the defeat of Cleopatra in 30 BC. There was no Egyptian leader after that, it was Augustus who ruled Egypt when Jesus was there (and/or Tiberius as Augustus died when Jesus was 9). In modern comparison it’s vastly more like the United States than Europe where a tyrannical governor (Herod) caused the family to flee to another Roman territory.
