The purpose of propaganda is to use political power to force you to be quiet and accept these messages, or worse, to force you to repeat them. This has psychological effects similar to what rape victims experience. They re-code certain perceptions or block things out so that they don't have to live in discomfort. It's skillful, deliberate, psychological trauma.

This is the most critical statement. The point of propaganda is not to make you believe it. Believing it just makes you a useful fool. The point of propaganda is to make you accept it; especially if you know it isn't true.
