The problem with the census is the concept of "white" versus the concept of "hispanic". First, the definitions of races are purely done through self-identification. I think a large amount of white people are choosing to identify as white-hispanic, black, asian, pacific islander, and other because of they are choosing to identify that way for the benefit of their family and self.
A good example of this was when Candice Owens was on Doctor Phill and said she was married to a white man and her kids would be mixed. The Leftist debating her told her: "No, your kids are black". There are a bunch of minorities using a "one drop rule", while a bunch of whites are using an inverse one drop rule. In addition, whites identifying as "hispanic" ethnically are also being removed from the population of "white" by racial activists on both sides, when in reality "hispanic is a political affiliation" according to one Democratic activist.
I believe that with these corrections, the white population of the US is probably still around 70-some percent, and additionally is probably stable at replacement levels. When broken down by political affiliation, it is only white liberals that are below replacement rate.
