I've taken both resignation and comfort in that fact that there is a spiritual battle going on and many of the strange opinions of the uninformed crowd are simply demonic influence. It's worth calling them out, but I'm not going to get worked up and say "That's insane, how can you possibly believe that?!" when someone is exhibiting illogical thoughts. Idol worship, depravity, and bizarre rituals and customs are the default state of fallen man.
